The VT1100C was Honda's biggest V-twin when it arrived in 1985, a liquid-cooled, shaft-drive cruiser built to give American buyers big-twin feel with Japanese reliability. This first version used a 45-degree three-valve engine, twin front discs, an 18-inch front wheel and one exhaust per side. Testers liked its smooth town manners and comfortable ride but found its straight-line pace only on par with rivals and the styling conservative.
